A19

On the busy A19, there was a failing highway embankment.  Soil nailing was required to hold back the failures.  The Albion Group installed over 500 Ischebek soil nails, working both day and night shifts to ensure rapid completion.  Because the A19 is a very busy road, we had very little actual “working” time to complete the project, therefore we had to be extremely efficient in how we performed the soil nailing work.

We were able to complete this project ahead of schedule without a single road closure.

Technical Details:

  • Slope Stabilizatoin using 500 Ischebeck soil nails totalling 7000m
  • Soil nail lengths between 12 and 15 metres
  • Day and night shifts to ensure rapid completion
  • Used 360º excavator with a 6 metre drilling mast
  • Installed Maccafferi rock netting to prevent soil erosion
