Wolverton Embankment

Slope stabilisation including soil nails, site clearance, slope protection, earthworks and drainage. The project also required track-side monitoring and safety critical work.

 

Hornsmill Embankment, Hertford Loop

Client: May Gurney                                                       Value: £1.5m                                                   Duration: 10 weeks

Use of five long-reach soil nailing rigs to secure 1km of  a failing 25m high embankment which was suffering from deep seated slip. Installation of 56,000 linear meters of soil nails, between 4m and 15m long, together with 20,000m² of geotextile netting.

 

 

Mellis Embankment, Suffolk

Client: John Martin Construction                               Value: £150,000                                                             Duration: 6 weeks

Construction of a gabion basket wall to create a cess walkway which enabled installation of soil nails from within the Green Zone to stabilise the failing embankment, without any track possession, allowing train speed restrictions to be lifted.
