Northampton General Hospital
Piling was required on this site to permit the construction of a new Department of Nuclear Medicine.
The split level site was immediately adjacent to the existing hospital buildings and straddled busy through roads within the hospital grounds.
The design and construction of the piles had to take into account the restrictions imposed by the location of the site and both Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piles constructed using a 30 tonne piling rig and mini-piles constructed using a 2 tonne mini-piling rig had to be employed to complete the works.
